The indicator has been developed since 2000 in order to monitor the coverage of the population by centralized sanitation systems.

Data sources

Integrated Sample Survey of household budgets and the Labor Force (hereinafter referred to as IODH).
Data collection methods

The survey of the population is conducted by interviewers through direct visits to households and filling out IODH questionnaires approved by the Resolution of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. IODH surveys use personal interviews using tablet computers (ComputerAssisted Personal Interview, CAPI).Data on household housing conditions is collected on an annual basis, and the indicator is developed based on the results of the year.
